The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications at the moment are open and can close on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to satisfy the following requirements:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a home using a combined gross residence income that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic money would not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and want not submit any evidence of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan read more Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent residents from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the correct Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored within their South African ID.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
